About me: I have been making chain maille jewelry for about ten years, ever since I learned the basics at a workshop in Chicago. At the time, I was reading a lot of novels set in the medieval period, and I loved the idea of making jewelry with the same weaves that would have been worn by the protagonists. As I learned how to make increasingly intricate designs, I became fascinated with the art form itself and the design possibilities it provided. Not long after learning, I began making gifts and selling jewelry at local art fairs.
I graduated with a degree in music composition at the University of Michigan, and in addition to making jewelry, I spend a lot of time writing music, playing flute (both classical and traditional music from Québec, Ireland, and New England), and performing with an improvisation/composition/performance-based ensemble.
