Chain maille, which dates back thousands of years, is made by linking individual rings together with two pairs of pliers, creating the weaves shown below, as well as many other patterns and designs.
Materials: I use anodized aluminum and bright aluminum rings, which are lightweight and comfortable against the skin. They will not tarnish.
Earring hooks are surgical steel and clasps are nickel-free.

About the weaves (pictured from left to right):
Zig Zag: This original design is based on the traditional Japanese 4-in-2 armor weave. "4-in-2" means that two rings are linked together around four other rings.
European 4-in-1: This is a common armor weave that was used in medieval times. "4-in-1" means that each ring links through four other rings.
Byzantine: This intricate chain maille weave is one of the more complex designs and is very flexible.
Half-Persian: This 3-in-1 weave is a variant on the Full-Persian weave. It lies flat and is smoothly flexible.
Spiral: This 2-in-1 weave forms a twisting DNA-like chain.
